Hi, I was born in Hazard KY on May 15, 58, my father, Corbett Ritchie, died May 16, 62 and my mom Edith moved us kids back to Germany. My dad had sever siblings, twin brothers, Kel & Del. Robert (past away before my dad) sister Ruby, Esther.there are/were others, can't remember names. I would like to create a family tree, if anyone has any information regarding the Ritchie family, I would greatly appreciate to hear from you. thanks

I am looking for any info I can find on my KY family history as well as a church called "Huff Island Old Regular Baptist Church" in Krypton KY. I was taken there as a child and would love to have a copy of the 125th Anniversary History Paperback Book of this church. I recently saw it but unable to obtain a personal copy. My great- grandfather was a member at this church. Therefore his His picture is in the book as a part of the church's history. My dad use to go to Hazard all the time when I was a child bringing me and my sibblings along in the late 60's and early 70's. His name was Arnold (Jack) Hamblin. My grandparents were Boyd and Oma Hamblin who moved to Indiana from Hazard area. My great grandparents were Ballard and Haley Hamblin. They lived deep down in one of those Hazard KY hollars. My Aunt Versie Hamblin Spencer who died a couple yrs ago kept up w/family history. Sadly since her passing, I fear it's loss. If you know any of my family please let me know. I would truly be grateful. I need to get a copy of that anniversary book of the that church. Much Thanks to you.

I am searching for anyone who would have grandparents still living that would remember a bluegrass band called Mark Patton and The Sandy River Boys, from back in the late 40's and 50's. They sang on the local radio station and also played alot of dances and one place I recall was the rondavou in hazard (I think it is spelled that way} My father played in this band and I would love to find someone still living that also played in the band with him. My dad was Clay Combs, but many called him Jr or Cotton, and he was also stepson to Cornelious Nesmith from Hazard and went by Jr Nesmith at one time.

Hello i was born in hazard ky on 1/31/59 to charles and joyce cook. My grandfather was Oscar Kincaid that owned the cemetery across the river in walkertown . My father worked at Blue Diamond coal in leatherwood. I still bleed blue and am proud to be from Hazard and it warmed my heart when I found this website.
