James Campbell or Maxine Ruby Stacy are my grandparents.My grandma had four children when she left for Ohio back in 1954-1955.My mother was born Feb. 2, 1950 in Perry Co. her sister were Marie,Wanda,and Brenda Campbell.My mothers name is Lillian Loretta Campbell.We think my grandfathers mothers name was aslo Lillian. My grandmas father name was Preston Stacy we don't know my grandmas,mothers name or if she had brothers or sisters.James Campbell was a coal minner when my mother was born. Just wanted to put in the Guest Book that my cousin, Clyde D. Jenkins, age 77, the son of Edith and Raymond Jenkins, passed away and will be interred in the VA Cemetery in Dayton. Clyde was born and raised in Blue Grass and came back that way each year that he was able to see if he could find friends of long ago. His heart was still in Blue Grass. I am sure there are some people around there that may remember Clyde.

As the fireworks around me broke the silence, I went back in time to the days of my youth when at midnight the trains sounded their lonesome whistles and the men in the neighborhood took their guns to the porches and shot into the air. Then the lights would go back off and everyone went back to dreamland.

Hi everyone, I was born at Hazard in 1953. My family lived in Kenmont at the time. They had to leave out in 1954 when the mines cut back or shutdown. My father (Frank) followed after his brothers (Howard, Smith and Jesse) who went north looking for work. He made it as far as Detroit, but decided to settle in Cincinnati in order to visit Hazard each and every weekend. Many of my favorite memories are of those weekend trips back home. Love the web site. Thanks.
