Recommended monitor size and resolution:
Hazard Kentucky and Perry County: A Photographic History is intended for viewing on a 14-inch or greater monitor. We recommend setting its resolution at 800 x 600 pixels or greater, and using 24-bit color or higher ("True Color" on a PC or "Millions" on a Mac). If you use 16-bit color ("High Color" on a PC or "Thousands" on a Mac), some images may appear grainy, but it will work.
To change your monitor's settings:
On a PC running Windows 95 or 98, go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, and open Display Properties. Under the Settings tab, set the Color Palette at True Color (24 bit), and the Desktop Area at 800 x 600 pixels. Click "OK" and follow the remainder of the instructions Windows provides to finish.
AOL users may be able to view better quality images by turning off Image Compression in Preferences. The link below provides more information.
